Stars and the director of the cult 80’s comedy movie Better Off Dead regaled audiences at the Agoura High Performing Arts Education Center last week following a screening of the film. The event was a fundraiser for the high school’s renowned ComedySportz program.
Actress and current ComedySportz coach, Diane Franklin (aka Diane DeLaurentis), hosted the evening and later answered questions posed by student Adam Karp, a junior, about her work in the film in which she played Monique, the French foreign exchange student, and love interest to star John Cusack. Joining her onstage were directer Savage Steve Holland and actress E.G. Daily.
Franklin also spoke about her new book, Diane Franklin: The Excellent Adventures of The Last American French-Exchange Babe of the 80s and later signed copies and posed for photos with eager fans.
Agoura High’s ComedySportz is an award-winning improvisational comedy group that continues to take top honors in local competitions.
