Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the long awaited Mercury retrograde…not. Hmmm.

Mercury is retrograde from April 28-May 22, 2016.

Have you been feeling it, really? If you are going to be affected by Mercury retrograde, you would already have evidence because the shadow period began three weeks ago. In other words, if you have already been experiencing electronic malfunctions, communication issues, reverses in business trends, then you are feeling it. As the planet of communication and intellect, Mercury retrograde tends to breed a certain level of confusion. Mercury rules our conscious mind–how we perceive and interpret information, and how we share that information with others. Mercury rules the areas of negotiating, buying and selling, listening, formal contracts, documents, travel, the mail and shipping, etc. All of these areas of life are affected when Mercury is functioning in a sluggish state. Decision-making is challenged during Mercury retrograde. Needless to say, it is not advised to engage in important decision-making or launch a new business (especially while Mars is retrograde, too!) Delays are more probable with Mercury retrograde. It’s a time when being careless with money or paperwork can haunt you. In Mercury retrograde, it’s better to be a seller than a buyer.

There is absolutely a positive side to Mercury Retrograde. We tend to hear from people from our past, especially in business. This period is best used for re-organizing and reflecting or finishing a project.

It may be difficult to communicate them under this influence, but don’t over analyze everything. Avoid “he said, she said” situations. Mercury retrograde periods can be times of heightened inner awareness, when meditation, keeping a journal, reworking old plans and reviewing past work are helpful. Minor glitches in the mechanical aspects of communication can occur. Don’t rely on or assume that someone received you email, text or voicemail; be responsible and follow up. It is important to note that there is absolutely no reason to suspend projects or anything of the sort during the Mercury Retrograde cycle. You CAN sign a contract in Mercury retrograde if the negotiations started while Mercury was direct.

I always advise to use to common sense and even with planetary challenges, don’t get caught up in “astrological paranoia.”

Have a great week!
